Why the UAE Keeps Ranking Among the World’s Safest and Most Tolerant Nations.
When people think of safety, they often picture Western cities. But look at the numbers and the story changes fast. The UAE’s crime index stands at just 14.8 — far below the U.S. (47.4), the U.K. (44.5), and the European average (42.1).
This didn’t happen by accident. The UAE enforces a zero-tolerance policy on crime, backed by smart surveillance, well-trained forces, and a culture that values accountability. It’s one of the few places in the world where solo female travelers feel completely secure, and kids still enjoy the freedom to move around independently.
Beyond safety, coexistence here feels natural. Over 40 Christian churches operate openly, Jewish communities practice freely, and government officials attend religious celebrations. Even Holocaust education has made its way into the curriculum — a rare move in the region.
The UAE’s example shows that safety and diversity don’t have to clash. With the right vision and governance, they can grow together — and that’s something the rest of the world could learn from.
