UAE and US Deepen Strategic Partnership in Technology and Sustainability

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, the UAE and the US held a series of roundtable meetings to explore new opportunities for strengthening their strategic partnership. Led by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, the discussions highlighted the potential for deeper collaboration in technology, sustainability, and economic development.

Dr. Al Zeyoudi stressed that both nations are united by the same vision: driving innovation, creating jobs, and advancing sustainable growth. He noted that the partnership has already yielded significant projects, including a $25 billion clean energy joint venture between ADQ and Energy Capital Partners, as well as Emirates Global Aluminium’s $4 billion investment in the first new aluminium smelter built in the US in nearly half a century. Both ventures will contribute to energy security, semiconductor production, and the electric vehicle industry—while creating thousands of American jobs.

The UAE-US Business Council and the US Chamber of Commerce also played key roles in these discussions, reinforcing the depth of the bilateral economic relationship. Attendees included prominent officials from the American public sector, underlining a shared commitment to making this partnership a cornerstone of global innovation and growth.

As Dr. Al Zeyoudi put it, the future lies in working hand-in-hand to develop the technologies of tomorrow, ensuring that both the UAE and the US remain leaders in global sustainability and prosperity. This partnership is not just about economics it is about shaping the world’s future.
