Operation "Gallant Knight 3": A Humanitarian Commitment by the United Arab Emirates in Gaza

A Year of Aid and Solidarity with the Palestinian People

The humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip has captured global attention, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has responded with a series of initiatives under Operation "Gallant Knight 3." Launched on November 5, 2023, this operation reflects the unwavering commitment of the UAE to the well-being of the Palestinian people, providing medical assistance, food, and psychological support during a time of extreme need.

The rapid and effective response from the UAE has manifested through various initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of those affected by the conflict. From the establishment of field hospitals to the distribution of medical supplies and food, the UAE has demonstrated its leadership in humanitarian assistance.

Key Initiatives of Operation "Gallant Knight 3"

Hospitals and Medical Care:

One of the most notable achievements of this operation has been the establishment of the Emirati Field Hospital in Rafah, which has treated over 48,000 injured individuals. Additionally, a floating hospital was dispatched to the Egyptian port of Al-Arish, where more than 5,000 surgical treatments have been performed since its activation.

Prosthetic Initiative:

Recognizing the devastating impact of conflict on the injured, the UAE has implemented an initiative to provide advanced prosthetics to victims who have suffered amputations. This program not only offers physical devices but also includes psychological support and medical rehabilitation to help beneficiaries reintegrate into daily life.

Humanitarian Aid:

The scale of humanitarian support is remarkable. To date, over 34,000 tons of medical supplies and food have been sent to Gaza. This includes 736 tons of medical aid and the distribution of more than 13,000 food packages to displaced families. The operation has also facilitated the medical evacuation of children and cancer patients to the UAE for specialized treatment.

Water Projects:

In response to severe water shortages in Gaza, six desalination plants have been established in Al-Arish with a total daily capacity of two million gallons. These facilities benefit over one million people and are integral to efforts aimed at improving living conditions in the region.

International Response and Ongoing Commitment

The UAE's actions have not been solitary; they have closely collaborated with international organizations such as UNICEF and WHO to implement vaccination campaigns against diseases like polio. This campaign aims to vaccinate over 640,000 children under ten years old in Gaza.

As more than a year passes since the escalation of conflict, the UAE has reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to the Palestinian people. Active participation in international forums and a willingness to collaborate with other nations underscore its role as a leader in humanitarian assistance in the Middle East.

Operation "Gallant Knight 3" represents a monumental effort by the United Arab Emirates to address the urgent needs of the Palestinian people in Gaza. Through direct medical care, substantial humanitarian aid, and sustainable projects aimed at improving basic living conditions, the UAE is making a significant difference amid suffering. This commitment not only reflects an immediate response to a humanitarian crisis but also an ongoing effort by the country to support its Palestinian brothers in their quest for a dignified and secure life.
