The United Nations Praises the UAE's Unwavering Commitment to Aiding Those in Need

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been recognized by the United Nations (UN) for its steadfast dedication to providing humanitarian assistance worldwide, particularly in the context of the ongoing crisis in Sudan. This acknowledgment comes amidst a devastating conflict that has resulted in thousands of deaths and millions displaced. Since November 2021, the UAE has delivered almost 50,000 tons of urgent aid to Gaza via 260 flights and 1,243 trucks to support those affected by conflict.

The UAE has also responded to natural disasters in other parts of the world, such as Brazil, where it flew its first relief plane with aid for flood victims, and the Philippines, where it sent planes loaded with relief aid following floods and landslides caused by a typhoon. In Jordan, the UAE provided winter clothing, blankets, and shelter items to refugee camps, in addition to emergency health funds.
