Parliamentary board investigates state of emergency in Amhara, Ethiopia

The Board of Inquiry into the Implementation of the Proclamation of the State of Emergency in the Ethiopian region of Amhara, made up of parliamentarians, is evaluating today the actions for the restoration of law and order. The House of People's Representatives (Parliament) approved on Monday the creation of that board to analyze the implementation of the measure, after sanctioning the state of emergency decreed by the Council of Ministers on August 4 due to the insecurity crisis caused by armed groups of the Fano militia.
